The memory of a labor and childbirth experience tends to be the most talked about event in a woman’s life. You probably will be revisiting this memory even 20 years from now. I strongly believe in the ability of a doula to enhance, nurture and protect this childbirth memory.

I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Nursing, have taught Preparation for Childbirth classes at Home Hospital for 17 years and have been involved with over 200 birthing experiences, yet I see each delivery as a unique blessing. My presence does not take the place of spouse/family involvement, but rather, compliments it. I will be as involved as the mother wants and needs me to be, and remain with her throughout labor and delivery. Regardless of the time or shift change, I will compassionately care for you by soothing tired muscles, recommend positions of comfort for fetal decent, reinforce Lamaze breathing techniques and help you to breastfeed your baby after delivery. It is my pleasure to serve you during a natural childbirth without any medical interventions or during a labor that includes the use of pain relief options or other medical procedures.
