I have had an interest in birth since age 11, being with my mother as she gave birth to 4 subsequent babies.
I hired a doula when I birthed my first child in 1994. It was such a positive experience and deepened my desire to help and support others during this special though often "scary" event of life. Having a doula provided a sense of security that
I wouldn't have felt with out her.
When we are informed and encouraged we feel secure and when we feel secure, we are confident, and when we are confident we birth easier.
Doulas may or may not help your birth go smoothly, but their services and care are proven to contribute to better outcomes for mother and baby.
